KT - Kemasik Beach, Terengganu

Located around 10 kilometers north of Kijal town, Kemasik Beach (Pantai Kemasik) is a beautiful and scenic tourist spot that you must visit if you happen to drive along the coastal roads of Terengganu.

This clean and picturesque beach is great for picnics, setting up camping tents, flying kites or just lounging around on the sand. You can also climb the large rocks on the beach and enjoy the view of the sea and beach from there. Nearby you can also view the rustic fishing village at the river mouth of Kemasik River.

There is a mini-park and playground near Kemasik Beach for visitors especially families to enjoy. Once in a while, you might spot a cow or two munching grass in this area. There are several food stalls in Kemasik Beach where you can buy light snacks and have a taste of the local food.

KT - Telaga Simpul

According to folklore, the crew of passing merchants used to stop over at this well to draw water and carry it back to their ships.

Located near Bukit Penjabad of Kuala Kemaman near Marina Beach, Telaga Simpul was mentioned in the journals of the great traveller, Abdullah Munshi. There is a freshwater well. For a long time, travellers have been using the well to frechen to replenish their water supply. However, according to myths, traveller must tie a knot using the pandanus leaves nearby and place it by the well to avoid bad luck. Today, the place has been restored and basic amenities are provided.

Located about 15km from Chukai on the coastal road towards Kuala Terengganu, is about 1 metre in width and nearly two metres deep.

KT - Fireflies Sanctuary

Lampyridae commonly called fireflies is a type of bug that shines at night with the light that can be found towards the abdomen. In Terengganu, you can find that The Sungai Yak Yah Firefly Sanctuary is the biggest fire sanctuary in Malaysia.

It is located about half an hour from the town of Chukai in Kemaman. The best time to go here for firefly appreciation activities is from July to September, which is the mating season for the firefly.

Take a cruise down the Yak Yah River to watch one of the wonders of nature, the flickering lights of the fireflies on tree branches are certainly a magical sight to behold.

The memory of these ‘Christmas trees’ lining the magrove riverbanks of the river can often be cherished only in one’s mind, as it quite difficult to capture the scene in photograph

KT - JAMBI HOUSE AND JAMBI MOSQUE

For those who wish to discover the history of Kg. Pasir Gajah, a visit to ‘Rumah Jambi’ and ‘Masjid Jambi’ are in order and you will feel excited with the uniqueness of both historical places. Jambi House was erected by Engku Mahmud Engku Abu Bakar, a Jambi royalty in 1933. Based on the facts, it was built by Chinese craftsmen from Chukai, Terengganu, the spot for this house is elevated so as to prevent flood waters from being entering the house. The clean surroundings as well as detailed construction enhance the house’s architecture.

The construction process of the house was time-consuming and laborious. At that time, no modern tools are used except for brute strength and simple hand tools such as wood plane. The timber was taken from the forest by using axes. The roofs, on the other hand, were tiles imported from India and brought to Pasir Gajah by ship which took about two years to arrive. The construction of Jambi House was fully-completed in 1937 and the costs are around RM30, 000.

KT - Journey To Kuala Terengganu From N9

Our holiday trip to Kuala Terengganu, East Malaysia, from the 14th of Jan 2011 - 16th of Jan 2011 Friday, 14th of Jan 2011. Me as a handsome guy, my pretty wife, our cute daughter sarah left Senawang at 7am early in the morning, by car (Perodua Alza).

I think it is better to travel via the kl-senawang-kuala pilah-muadzam shah road than kl - karak highway - muadzam shah coz it's nearer and the most importantly is no speed cameras there. Hooray! To be exact, Muadzam Shah is a town under the district of Rompin, Southeast of Pahang. Muadzam Shah is 100km away from Kuantan and 80km away from Segamat. Muadzam Shah is so ulu that not many people know about this place.

We reached Kuantan at 10 pm after stop at Petronas Simpang Chini.. We journeyed via LPT all the way to Chukai Kemaman, stop at RNR at 11.30am & reached Mesra Mall Kijal around 1.30 pm..Take a break rush for Pizza.

We reached Kuala Terengganu, West Malaysia around 4.00 pm in the evening.. Pak Bakar as a Manager of Homestay Warisan Teluk Ketapang came to pick us up from Mydin. Checked into Homestay Warisan around 4.30pm.. We bought our dinner that night at the nearby “pasar malam” called Pasar Malam Kota Duyung Lama..

On our way to Kuala Terengganu we saw "many-many" attractions place at Terengganu. I will explain the details one by one.. “Sabar Menanti”.
